I had to share a picture from our front yard. Such symbolism!

I often wonder why Jesus took a crown of thorns. I wonder why he took thorny me.
I marvel at the symbolism of the picture. The thorns are no match for the Christ who died for us with a crown of thorns. Then he takes our heart of thorns and washes us whiter than snow.
Come now, and let us reason together,” Says the LORD, “Though your sins are like scarlet, They shall be as white as snow; Though they are red like crimson, They shall be as wool. (Isaiah 118)
For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son. that whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (John 3:16)
Fantastic picture and great message Gary!

Great insight brother. He takes our thorns so He can make us thornless. A favorite theme Wanda loves to talk about. Had we not a place to take our prickly thorny ‘self’ nature we would end up wounding those around us. By His generous love to take those wounders from us He can then turn us into vessels of love, like Himself.
Quite a beautiful picture.

Thank you so much. We have more snow so that bush is almost completely buried for the winter.

Nature speaks deeply of the things of God. How wonderful you can see it.

I took a whole week staring at that picture as it says way more to my inner being than I can ever articulate.

Beautiful post. God has so much love for us and we do not deserve His love.

You are so right Lizzy, I think Jesus saw millions of us in each thorn, each nail as he took our sin upon himself. unfathomable love

Beautiful post! It is always an incredulous thing to watch the snow coming down, slowly covering everything up. Suddenly, there is a brand-new landscape. And that is what God has done for us; the landscape of our hearts is altogether new. With Him, we have a fresh start, a clean palette, that God can paint upon…His love story for us in beautiful colors. Thank you for your endless inspiration…
